Random Photo: Ready for Departure
This past Saturday night I enjoyed a rare ladies night out on the town with some great friends. One of our stops that night was for drinks at Departure, on the 15th floor of The Nines Hotel/Macy's in downtown Portland. I captured this view of Pioneer Square with my iPhone camera while we laughed and enjoyed a cocktail.

It was a great night to be sure, cocktails and all with a group of great ladies. I recently tried to take a nighttime city view of PDX with my larger, more expensive digital camera, and I can assure you it was absolute hell trying to get one decent shot for a website. Saturday night when we were all on the deck of Departure Restaurant & Lounge, each one of us took a picture with our camera phones of the building pictured above (Cari's shot). I was stunned when I was able to take one fabulous nighttime shot with my camera phone after trying about 50 times to get the other nighttime shot with my regular digital camera. Anyhow, thanks to Cari for this great shot, and I think we all need to go out for a girls' night sooner than later. Watch out, Portland!
